The Klickitat River, a tributary of the Columbia River is best known for its steelhead and salmon
stretching from Bonneville Dam to the Snake River. Nestled in the shadow of Mount Adams volcanic cone, the Klickitat spans over 96 miles long. The river drops into a tight, rock-walled gorge and is a favored fishing site due to the number of fish and high-water volume given the narrow canyon.
It supports the most significant fishery on the Washington side of the Columbia River and was once judged to be the second most important anadromous fish habitat of all rivers in Washington and Oregon. You will find some of the hardest fighting steelhead on the Klickitat and is a favorite among anglers who like a good fight.
